1. REQUEST YOUR MILITARY TRANSCRIPTS AS OFFICIAL DOCUMENTATION FOR MILITARY TRAINING AND EXPERIENCES TO GAIN ACADEMIC CREDIT.

The Navy, Marine Corps, Army, and Coast Guard have moved to merge their transcript system into one standard academic transcript model that allows veterans to have one officially recognized military transcript called the Joint Services Transcript (JST). The JST allows veterans to have schools review and grant credit for your military training and experience, which should enhance your educational experience and accelerate your time to completion and into a good energy job. apprenticeship or on-the-job training rather than by attending classes.

4. ENERGY INDUSTRY APPRENTICESHIPS

The energy industry offers a host of apprenticeship programs that prepare men and women for dynamic, rewarding, and well-paying careers that power life. You can locate registered apprenticeships at the Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship website. In addition to the registered apprenticeships, there are HUNDREDS of apprenticeships that are available in the energy industry that are not registered with the Department of Labor but are available to employees based on the job. Once hired by the company, employees are placed into an apprenticeship and provided with the opportunity to learn and earn. All the training happens as an employee of the company. Prior to hire, there are quite a few pre-apprenticeship programs that prepare veterans for the industry.
