Assists the manager of a designated project in the major functional area of test and evaluation of a new weapons system. Directs programs for the test and evaluation of new naval weapons systems, equipment and studies leading to improved design and utilization of such systems and equipment. Coordinates the projects’ operational requirements with available or developmental equipment and makes appropriate recommendations. Maintains liaison with other governmental and private agencies engaged in combat systems and equipment development and evaluation.
